DESCRIPTION: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nICIC26 Birmingham, UK - 13-15 April 2026\n\n\n\n\nIntegrated Care For All:&nbsp;Promoting Health and Wellbeing Through Diversity\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 26th International Conference on Integrated Care (ICIC26) in partnership with The&nbsp;International Journal of Integrated Care (IJIC)&nbsp;and the&nbsp;University of Birmingham&nbsp;will take place on 13-15 April 2026. The conference will bring together researchers, practitioners, people with lived experience, clinicians and managers from the UK and around the world who are engaged in the design and delivery of integrated health and social care.\nThey will explore how integrated care can respond to the needs of diverse people and communities, embrace the skills and knowledge of diverse professionals and practitioners, and develop diverse and innovative interventions which build on the strengths of people and technology. In doing so, the conference will share common opportunities and challenges faced by integrated care programmes and practice and debate potential solutions and learning from local and national developments.\nThe conference is particularly&nbsp;organised around the following&nbsp;themes:\n\nImproved Outcomes through Community-Based Care\nEnhanced Value-Based on Prevention and Technology\nReduced Inequalities with Social &amp; Economic Development\nStrengthened Workforce by Growing Capacity, Skills &amp; Inclusivity\n\n&nbsp;\nThe <a href="activities/eu-funded-projects/laurel.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Laurel project</a> will be present in an ICIC session on 15 April:\nSession Details:\n\nSession: 14.E Digital Governance, Maturity and Trustworthy Data Sharing,&nbsp;Location:&nbsp;Hall 11a\nDate: Wednesday, 15 April 2026\nTime: 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM\n\n&nbsp;\nSpecial Interest Group:&nbsp;Digital Health Enabling Integrated Care SIG\n\n&nbsp;\nSession Description:&nbsp;This session examines how digital platforms can support integrated care while raising critical questions about governance, trust, and value. Drawing on international research and practice, the papers explore economic evidence for digital chronic care, tools for assessing digital maturity, lessons from complex tele-rehabilitation procurement, and citizen- and community-controlled data systems. Case studies highlight Indigenous data sovereignty, cross-border preventive health platforms, and large-scale mHealth adoption.
